Kheanna Walker’s Biography
Kheanna’s fitness journey began in Montreal, Canada. She was involved in sports at a young age - her parents were always passionate about keeping their family active. They were also adamant about making her feel like she could achieve anything if she set her mind to it, despite being one of the only people of color in the spaces she occupied. She has carried that mentality with her as her training has evolved.
Often being the only Afro-Asian woman meant that she had to work hard to make sure that if she stood out, it was for the right reasons.
In her teens, she joined competitive synchronized swimming and cheerleading teams. These two sports enabled her to establish strong foundations in dance, flexibility, flow, choreography and strength. When she attended her first pole class, she fell in love right away. She remembered it being super hard, but there was something about it that made her want to get really good at it.
She was extremely inspired by her first instructors who moved with such strength and grace, and she remembers wanting to be able to look like that when she danced. She pole danced recreationally in Montreal for about 2 years and then she moved to Australia and became exposed to a whole new world of pole dancing. The scene there is competitive yet vibrant, and she soon discovered that pole dancing could be both a passion and a profession. She started competing in Australia, which was a completely nerve-wrecking yet incredibly rewarding experience. She loved being able to work towards a goal and finally leave everything on stage.
She loves sharing her passion with people around the world. She has taught workshops in Australia, Scotland, England, Canada, Thailand and Spain and she has also performed on various stages including:
The Blackstage Show in London (2022)
Dreaming Eli Launch at London Fashion Week (2022)
